Yes, I know you weren't. And I wasn't slapping back either. It is just fact.
Sometimes it is quite rewarding in more than a monetary way to work long and hard at something and then sit back for a lazy. The world looks nice from that angle.

I agree, Diana...when you can see yourself actually moving forward, at least.
I think, however, before you all start looking at other cultures and comparing just this time of the month and treatment during it, you should also look fully at how the women are treated in general. Not how they -say- they are treated, but actually -are-.

I'm just saying...I hear a lot of ladies talk about how "good" men from other cultures, without knowing the whole story. Like you all were just talking how they would let the ladies have that time away for themselves, in a "sacred" like manner. Yet, those same women, during the rest of the time, really have no rights/freedoms/privledges.
Just a thought.

well, this has gone deep....
I don't know that it was a matter of men allowing the women the time to themselves. I think it was an "always has been done" kind of thing. And, yes, the big picture would definitely make for a clearer understanding.
Native Americans had their ways. I believe that, in the nomadic days, the men went out in front as the strongest and the women gave directions from behind because they could see the whole picture of what was ahead and were intuitive in ways the men were not. This doesn't seem like a suppression of any sort, but an understanding of each others' abilities and an acceptance of what needs to happen in order to maintain order and happiness.

Let's just all agree that every culture is screwed up in multiple ways. That way, everybody's happy.

I'm not unhappy, but the vibes must be staticky or something... Xeron, you'll make a good parent! Stop the fight before it gets started. I'm all for that. Love ya, ducky. (That's my pet saying for all my kids.)

Xeron, you'll make a good parent! Says you. I'm cynical, a jerk (in a good-natured way) and don't anger easily but explode when I do.
