Hello stef , thankyou for your comments,at last i have time to reply, long over due, but N and J have had tummy bugs for the last two weeks and it has been hard to have time uninterupted. And i really wanted to ponder this. ;D I'm not thinking of Jemima necessarily but it is possible to overload children with expectation. I think we'll have to balance the time between being reiki and being silly .But it will be fun and a great way to explore energy and the time will have to be right for her. Think we'll all try some meditation first though. Love, Imogen

My son has Autistic spectrum disorder. I have only been giving him Reiki for about four weeks now and we have been seeing some amazing changes in him since I started.
His ASD is quite severe and everyone has noticed the changes in him. I have told no one about the Reiki other than my husband so what people are noticing is real.
My son is nearly nine years old and loves the Reiki, if he is unsettles I send it by distance.

I have offered Reiki attunments to my grandchildren. They are not ready and have not accepted my offer. My 5 year old grandson gives Reiki to his friends at recess who hurt themselves. My oldest granddaughter gives Reiki to her horse. They know a lot about Reiki and their other Grandmother also a RMT has given them children's books about Reiki. I look forward to the day when they will accept an attunment. For now they are aware of the benefits of Reiki healing

I fully understand wanting our children to grow and florish. My seven year old daughter is an empath so much so that we have had to monitor the tv along with other things. She is in love with reiki and I had thought about attuning her, asked many people like you what they thought and didn't have too many say it would be bad. I was meditating and had the answer come to me "If the child can understand that not all things want to be healed and not all things can be healed then it is time to do the attunment, if the child can not then wait." If they are natural healers then just let them do there own thing, when they get older and can understand then you can offer more.To give them such energy and have someone they want to help refuse it could cause problems. My daughter wants to help everyone at school and doesn't get it when they don;t want her help. It's just another view for all to consider.

As a Reiki master,I see no harm in attuning children to this wonderful healing energy.Remember,Reiki can do no harm.As long as the child agrees to be attuned,I say why not?

Hi, I think a child is ready for reiki attunement when she/he is able to practice reiki in daily life which mean after his attunement can treat herself/himself, others and enough serious that can use reiki in daily life.
Of course child is child. So their duty is playing, enjoying their age.

I was told when receiving my training that children are so open they rarely need an attunement. That they already have access to the Reiki energy! I believe it too. Children are so wide open. That is part of what makes them so wonderful! I have shown my daughter hand placements and crystal placements but have not attuned her. She loves it and uses it when she get worked up to calm herself down. <3
