The real meaning of the word 'culture' lies in giving up bad thoughts and bad actions, and cultivating sacred thoughts and noble deeds. Culture expresses itself as discipline; it must be evident in every aspect of life. One must live a purposeful life. By doing so, one can attain Divinity. Otherwise, life is rendered wild and wasteful. The senses and the mind have to be controlled and regulated so that one can win the battle of life. Self control is sense control and mind control. - BABA

A journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing, and coercion are fruitless. We find that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us. — John Steinbeck

A girl asked a boy if she was pretty. He said no.
She asked him if he wanted to be with her forever. He said no.
She then asked him if he would cry if she walked away. He again said no.
She had heard too much. She needed to leave.
As she walked away, he grabbed her arm and told her to stay, he said,
"You're not pretty, you're beautiful. I don't want to be with you forever, I need to be with you forever. I wouldn't cry if you walked away, I would die."

May the road rise to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again may the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.

Happiness is contagious. Learn to experience happiness in the small things in everyday life. Then learn to share those little happinesses.
Watch and feel as the world around you brightens a little more, shares a little more, becomes a better place to be surrounded by, with the simple act of sharing a little bit of happiness each day.
Happiness is all around us - we need only to open our eyes, our minds, our hearts, our spirits, to experience it in many ways. Don't shut out happiness.
Open wide and let it in, little by little, and before you know it, you won't be able to make it through the day without your morning happiness fix

If a wake up and it's a miserable day, I look out the window and see the flowers instead of the rain. It works. I'm always looking for good things instead of focusing on bad. Hi Michael
Thank you very much for sharing these thoughts, I think life is very simple and we must not try to be a superman in the world. We must accept our defieciencies and try to be better day by day. I think the essense of life is love. How could God creat this vast universe without love ? I think God loves us like a mother not like a father. There is a big difference between them. father gives rewards when we are doing good deeds and punishes us while doing wrong things but mother loves her children without considering any actions.
You wrote about happiness. I have been thinking about happiness many years and I think there exist no concrete happiness in the world . Sometimes we live like a clown , having all the time an artificial smile in our face.
Michael I think the amount of sadness is more than the amount of happiness in the life.
Whenever I am happy, there exist a slight sadness in the deepest layers of my happiness, I never found out what is that , but there is . sometimes I think that this sadness is from the thought of departure from life. WE all die one day , do not we ? Although all says that we must make the best use of NOW but there is an uncertainity about the future and the thought of living for the rest of our lives under the soil without any chance to see just one more time the sun, people, flower and .... is the reality which we are all facing it.
Sorry to write sad words , just my thoughts not more
Love Babak

Hi! Thanks for your thoughts on this. Babak: I've heard two things about that. There is a reason, and you will not die. Until you learn, you'll be here 4ever... so we will meet again after this life, just as we have in lots of previous lives.. and you know I always value your input, my friend Stay Beautiful Michael

If you count all the stars in the sky, all the grains of sand in the oceans, all the roses in the world and all the smiles that have ever been, then you will have a sample of how much I love you.

Hi Mohammed Remember - Just For Today......... So what if we all die one day. Don't worry about that today. Whatever your beliefs are, you can't spend your whole life worrying about the inevitable. Just take each day as it comes and enjoy it. Rejoice in the fact that today you are alive. So what if the smile is artificial - if it makes other people smile then you are still spreading happiness. We all smile at times to hide our fears and pain, but if we focus on the smile and the good things in life it takes away some of the pain - even if it is only temporary. I have suffered from depression in the past and I won't let it get to me again as it takes over your life. Enjoy the sun, people and flowers today. love stef
