Being Reiki
We come into being reiki when we need it for a purpose and then we feel it. And later we start knowing all about it and are into it fully. Then sometimes, we go back to what we were doing before we knew reiki and are unable to do reiki for a while. We are fully aware of reiki though, but are not doing it for some reason, maybe due to lack of willpower?
When we come back to it, we may not really feel the same way with reiki as we did before (that strange feeling is an illusion though and we know it). It happens sometimes when we leave everything else and concentrate only on knowing and doing reiki. Then we get busy with other "things" and allot a little lesser time to actually sit and do reiki. But we are still thinking a lot about reiki and feel it. Then after a while we get "really lost" in doing things, example, meeting a deadline or goal or something else which is really important. At that point of time, we may not be not thinking of reiki or intend to do it. We feel the sensations / heat waves repeatedly but we still do not intend to do it, atleast for some time. Still later, we might stop feeling the sensations because we have not been doing any reiki at all. At that point we even stop thinking about it completely. Or we may think about it and feel guily about not doing it.
We have to remember that reiki is with us all the time, but we are not following the 5 principles for sure.
All this time, we keep worrying about our deadline/goal and we think we have used enough reiki until then to reach our goal, and that we have the power of reiki to solve it for us and that we need to concentrate only on the goal now. But as it was pointed out in "Reiki food for thought" today, that is not the case.
Reiki is with us all the time, we do not realize that. We "come back" to it after a while and see that the sensations we feel while using it are not the same as when we were practising it without a break. This might arise doubts in our minds as to whether we really have the "capacity" to do self-healing or distant healing. We forget that we are worrying by thinking like this. We are actually talking about the ego when we wonder if we have the "capacity" to do it. We do not, at that time, think that we are just channels and not doers. We feel happy and proud that we are able to do reiki.
So as a reminder, I quote this again:
Today's Reiki Food for Thought
This is difficult to explain. If you decide that someone "needs" reiki then you are already attached to the outcome. If you decide reiki is this or that color, this or that feeling, this or that experience then you are already attached to what you think it is. If you decide that reiki must be practiced this or that way you are attached to the concepts and beliefs you have about how it should be. If you believe that you can "manifest" things with reiki then your ego attachment to what you need, desire and should have are already evident. If you think reiki is your key to a better job, more money, a better love life, a better sex life, better relationship, then your desire for these things shows your attachment.
When you are attached to what ego wants you are in duality. Reiki is merely an external that you (the ego) wishes to control to make what the small self wants. You are no longer free to be what reiki is, in that moment. There are those that advocate being a "clean bone" when doing reiki. I prattle on and on about BEing Reiki with "intentless intent", or "great effort, no goal". See how simple that is. In this you are just BEing reiki. In the moment it is, flows. It does what it does.
