Is it normal to feel pain when giving reiki to someone else? When doing a treatment on a certain person I get a very sharp pain in the same area that she is experiencing pain. Shortly after I stop the treatment the pain goes away. This has happened three times now. Is this something that i should worry about? I have done the grounding exercises before the treatment and I have also done the shaking off the energy by shaking my hands during the treatment. Is there something else I should be doing? Thanks for your help Meredith

Hi Meredith,
I think you should ask for protection (imagine a shield of light around you) before you start the treatment.

It might be that you have a stronger connection with this person then others that you heal and that is why you feel pain during the healing. Not that it is right to feel pain but sometimes things like that happens when you have a close relationship for example. The advice given above are excellent ones

I had never felt someone else's pain that I was sending healing to until yesterday. I thought that when you felt pain from another person that you are sending healing to that means that you did not ground properly. I do have a strong connection with the person that I was sending healing to so I guess that could be why I felt his pain

I have felt others pain but I have also had problems in projecting when I healed ;D But that was solved with me protecting myself before the healingsession.
