and once, my 7-year-old son said to me: "mom, while you did Reiki on me, it was like I was flying and wind passed me by."
another time he said: " I could feel the vibrations, it's like an earthquake."
in comparison, my younger one (he'll be 5 next monday, he has type 1 diabetes and it was for him I began with Reiki), he doesn't feel much, but he enjoys Reiki as much as his big brother.
I've one question and would also like to ask it here, my older son, he could see things (spirits) when he was a toddler, he would say: "mom, there is an old woman over there, she wants to play with me, but she's all red and I'm scared."
My little sister gave him a crystal necklace to protect him, and as time passed by, he stopped seeing spirits.
Now, if I do Reiki on him frequently, would it increase his sensitity and would he start seeing spirits again?

That's an interesting question... will Reiki increase the recipient's ability and connection with the spirit world? My belief is that most children have this connection "by default" but that it is lost/closed with age, or perhaps that it is not a common thing talked about in most families/societies... what do you think? love Michael

I wouldn't say that all children have the ability to see spirits. I've never seen any (though I have felt some), and I know very few who have seen any at all. It could be that the older one gets, the less able they are to see spirits, but I think it depends on how their personalities develope. Lets say person one could see things when he/she was a child, and the family was encouraging the child by having him explain what it looked like, making the child believe seeing spirits were cool. When this child gets older, it'd be more likely to keep seeing things, as it hasn't pushed the 'visions' away. On the other hand, if a child has family or friends who just think it's weird to see things, they might eventually choose to block things like that, whether they know it or not.

In our culture, it is believed only a tiny part of children can see spirits, and it is not a good thing. Sometimes, it is the spirit who chooses to be seen, for certain purposes or to communicate something.
However, it is different if the spirit belongs to family. It is common for dead family members to show up in our dreams, to warn us of bad things, or to make requests. Many of us believe that our ancestors can protect us and bless us with good fortune.
