Dear All In Sweden some RMT's are getting together to form some sort of community and setting up rules to try to ensure the quality of a treatment as well as the training in Reiki. Note that we are not talking about someone sharing Reiki for free here however I do appreciate the effort of mixing quality with Reiki when it comes to teaching but... I see the obvious risk of people trying to make Reiki into something I don't think it is or should be; dogmatic, controlled by trademarks and such. When it comes to the actual treatment, besides using a standard set of hand positions, how can you guarantee the quality of the flow of energy, since different recipients will have specific needs or reasons for seeking a treatment. How can you ensure quality regarding distant treatments? Isn't this all about trying to form an elitistic select group of practitioners in order to serve the holy dollar? love Michael - on da barricades

We have here in Germany also a lot of different Reiki associations and it is there too like you describe it. I don´t agree what they are doing, like the Reiki Alliance they want that the people pay a lot of Money for Reiki Attunements.Reiki is for everyone and it must be less expensive for all who like to learn Reiki. An other Reiki Teacher association is more humane ( in pricing) but they think that Reiki-Teachers who give Free Attunements via internet is not legitimate. I don´t agree at all................ Nevertheless I agree with you that we shoudn´t make Reiki domatic we are practice Reiki and we are responsible on our own of the qualitiy of Reiki-Treatments and Training we give to others. love, Brigitte

Hi Michael They're planning on doing it here as well The government want all Reiki Practitioners to be registered. One of their 'rules' is that to be registered you need a certificate from a Reiki Master who is already registered, and you need to have had at least 12 hours in person teaching. Obviously you have to pay for the annual registration, you have to pay for all your teaching, and if you're not registered, you can't practice Reiki All the money men think it's a great idea - they'll have a good excuse to put their prices up Will it improve the quality of Reiki? In my opinion NO. love stef
