Hi to you all , i came across this article concerning the practice of reiki in some states and how they are trying to only make it applicable by healthcare providers. www.reiki.org/CurrentTopics/keep_reiki_free.html , i hope reiki later on doesnt fall under the regulations of the government , this mainly applies to practices that can cause harm but reiki is free from harm to anyone so i dont know why they are considering it for regulation.

Hi sneakingcat Thanks for finding this. There is also talk of regulating Reiki in the UK. The only reason I can think of for this regulation is so that the government can made money out of it. Reiki is always growing in popularity so governments will want to get something from it. It is good that Reiki is being used in hospitals now, and I guess that there will come a time when it will have to become regulated for use within the medical profession. But I can't see why it has to be regulated for use outside of the medical profession. A lot of people go for Reiki treatments just to relax and to get a nice, warm feeling inside of them. I don't see it affecting me in anyway because I don't advertise my services. The people that I treat are family, friends, and friends of friends, and I don't charge money for reiki treatments so I will continue to treat people in this way.......they will have to find me to regulate me ;D ;D Reiki is a gift that should be free and available to everyone who wishes to feel the beauty of it........but there are always going to be people that make money out of it. We just have to do the best we can to keep treating people and telling them that they don't have to pay for it love stef

so now that Reiki is turning into something the government can tax regulate and so on... wonder how the government defines Reiki... what is it really? and I guess freebie-Reiki-peeps like us will get problems with the Reiki trade unions... so what's next... regulate and tax the air that you breathe? love Michael

Dear Michael, They would have done that long time ago, if they had found a personal airmeter. Anyway let us breathe as long as it is free and continue to send free reiki. love anand
