Hi Do you have symbols of your own, that perhaps have been channelled for you by spirit, or perhaps some symbols you've modified to make them work better for you personally? If so, what about the collective power that occurs when lots of people come together, focusing on the same symbol, like a cross or CKR, do that get lost when you have your personal symbol or... how is that working please enlighten me love Michael

Hello MIchael . Yes my dear i have my own symbol It has been given to me before i get attune to Reiki ... I use it from time to time .... as for the collective focus ..? I beleive when a group of people come together ... Wha't s matter is the intention ..and the intensity they charge to bring healing .and connect with SPIRIT ...the symbol is just a tool in this case to help focus .. I don't beleive it does really matter which symbol you use . Looking forward to hear other opnion as well . In heart sumer

I agree with you totally Sumer. It is intent and focus that is important, not the symbol. The symbol just helps with the focus, whether this is positive or negative. It is fascinating that symbols that are negative to some people, are positive to others.
I was blessed with a personal symbol that was given to me in a dream many years ago and have found myself drawn to people who also find this symbol important (and we didn't know that about each other before we met). I love it when those things happen ;D

Just wondering if anyone might know what this symbol is? It looks something like a J with dots on either side of it?

a question - if you believe that the symbol is needed to give reiki, or that you need your symbol for 'focus' - how will you give reiki to one who needs it when you are away from your 'symbols'? I don't think we 'need' the symbols to give reiki - if you memorize your symbol, what if you forget how many dots this way or how long that stroke is or how many cycles into the center there are? I think we use the symbols as a physical reminder picture to help us remember we can do this. Because we are human - and subject to doubts and insecurities. The symbol is merely a physical representation we use to tell ourselves we can do this - I don't think the symbol is as important as the KNOWING you CAN heal using the energy supplied in abundance by the universe for whatever we focus on. When I was given the symbols of my attunement, they meant nothing to me - but I know that I am 'sending' or channelling reiki by the responses of the recipients, and by my intuition. When I received my attunement, I received a message more powerful to me than any symbol - I smelled fresh, live roses - very strongly - like I had been transported to an old english garden full of fragrant roses in the sunshine. Sometimes when I channel reiki, I see light around the edges of my vision - whether my eyes are open or closed - but I feel nothing else personally - except when the session is over, I have more energy. The roses have significance for me because as a child, I was Catholic, and was confirmed with St. Therese - she was a young woman when she died and she is often depicted with masses of roses. I have received several messages from St. Therese over the years and I have come to believe she is one of my spirit guides. I guess my point is, there are symbols and there are signs, and we must each listen to our guides or intuition and pay attention to the energy around us.
