When your child is sick, you as a parent want nothing else but for your child to feel better.
When my child is not well, first thing I turn to is Reiki. However I find that I sometimes have difficulties of getting the energy to flow. This could seem weird since Reiki is about love and compassion and what love could be greater than your love for your child?
I believe the problem is that I am attached to the outcome, the result of what Reiki can do for my child. My ego interferes with me being a pure vessel for Reiki.
I try to deal with the situation in a way that I take a huge step back, center my breath in the hara/tantien and try to release myself from my parenthood. I try to picture my child as any other human being that I intend to direct some energy to, for the highest good - nothing more, nothing less. This usually start the flow of energy.
Did you have a similar experience? Do you have a technique that you use? Please share.
love Michael

Hello Michael , when it comes to my children I don't use technique..if i can have them relax then i do all the complete treatment .usually when they are in pain all they want is to be held ....I send the intent for reiki and i trust if i feel the energy running or not doesn't matter I trust they are also children of the universe . I just keep asking for light to fill them ... i keep telling them they are dearly loved by all ...i see that love enfolding them ...with big arms ....until they calm down ... It is not easy when it comes to our children ....isn't it ? In heart sumer

I have found that sending reiki to my daughter by distance method works best for both of us. I can seperate myself from the desired outcome, so in turn the energy flows better. I have tried to let if flow by placing my hands on her but it never seems to be very effective.

I agree with this. It isn't all the time, but quite often I feel like there is a sheet of insulation deadening the flow. With distance Reiki, this hasn't happened............yet.
Love and gratitude, Diana

Yeah, it's hard, especially when the sickness is something that can have immediate danger, like asthma. Now we have winter school holidays and I took the kids to stay with my sister, she lives in another city. There must be something in her home that triggered my son's asthma (he hasn't had any attack for the past two years). I just couldn't do any reiki, while hearing and seeing how hard he was struggling with his breathing. After one hour, I gave up, it was useless. I think reiki is better for daily maintainance , not for urgent situation.

I had a similad problem healing my girlfriend, but I solved it by charging objects with Reiki and giving her the objecto to hold, distant reiki worked well too.

Hi guys,
My son has been sick for a long time now and I have hardly been using Reiki on him during this period. But whenever I have done it (hands on), the flow is very strong or normal, depending upon how much energy he needed at that time. I mostly do it while he is asleep. So far, I have not experienced "lack of energy flow" on him (unless it is when I have not been practicing Reiki for some time).
love, Sridevi
