We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.

Everyone has inside him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy of our life to do them. When we do good things from this inner desire, there is kindness in everything we think, say, want and do. Emmanuel Swedenborg

I have learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.

" World Peace starts with countries at peace Countries start with states at peace States start with cities Cities start with communities Communities start with families Families start with love, love starts with friendship, Friendship starts with a SMILE (so all you got to do is smile)."
--- Written in 2003 by Michelle S., Age 16 --- California
This whole saying came about after an offhand comment from my seventh grade teacher who said that Mother Teresa once said that peace begins with a smile. I expanded on that trying to explain what the effect of a smile is. I had originally written this during the War and my explanation went like this: We all have our different opinions on the war, but I know that if you ask anyone in the world the classic Miss America question, "If you had one wish what would you change in the world?" The majority answer would be WORLD PEACE. Why then do I not see any action about this? My feeling is that a smile sends off a positive vibe that other people feel. I really do believe that a smile can change the world and create world peace.

THE GIFT OF TODAY
I hold a gift that's called Today, and I don't need to borrow anything from yesterday and nothing from tomorrow.
The fleeting hours of Today will hold sufficient pain; Today may be my only chance to savor what I gain.
So I will live my life Today, not count on my tomorrows nor dwell on yesterday's regrets, its failures or its sorrows.
I'll just be grateful for Today- enjoy each simple pleasure. Today is such a lovely gift, each moment is my treasure.

Year by year the complexities of this world grow more bewildering, and so each year we need all the more to seek peace and comfort in joyful simplicities.

However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder will find faults even in Paradise. Love your life.
