I'm with sridevi. My kids and my husband go to my first recipe book which was my text at school and is an invaluable resource because it gives you all the basics like boiling/poaching/scrambling eggs, how to make gravy, how long to cook a roast (if you eat meat as they do) etc etc etc.
And I go to it regularly as well because not only does it give me all those basic recipes (including white sauce) but it gives me conversion tables and other useful information as well.
It's always good to go back to basics, in all paths in life . Good on you mick
