Potato Dahiwadas.
Ingredients :
1/2 kg potatoes-boiled,peeled,mashed crushed garlic-1 tbsp crushed ginger-1 tbsp 1/2 tsp chilli pd 3 cups curds whipped cold water-1 cup roasted crushed jeera-1 tbsp tamarind chutney- 1 tbsp oil to fry for the filling grind together 1 cup fresh coriander leaves,salt,1 tsp lemon juice,4 green chillies and 1/2 coconut greated for the tempering mustard seeds- 1 tsp curry leaves-4-5 ns dry red chillies- 2-3 nos oil-2 tbsp
Method-
Mix together the mashed potatoes,ginger and garlic add salt to taste,mix well and form into evenshaped balls flatten them a little,fill the prepared chutney in it and close,fry the wadas as ususal,drain and add them into the whipped curds and cold water mix,pour curd over also,garnish with tamarind chutney,jeera,choped mint and coriander leaves serve chilled,tempered with the mustard seeds,curry leaves and chilies.

Can you please tell me what whipped curds are and what jeera is? I would love to try this recipe.

Hi alimaya, Jeera is cumin seed Curd is another name for plain yogurt; so whipped curds are whipped or beaten yogurt - to bring to a very thick buttermilk consistency for dahiwadas. love Sridevi

That makes it so much easier for me. I definitely look forward to trying this recipe. It's just the kind of food I love.
I'm not sure about finding tamarind chutney though. Is this spicy or hot or........................?
Any pointers on a substitute if I can't find this?

Hi Alimaya, sorry for not replying earlier. was a bit busy. Tamarind chutney is sour. If you do not have tamarind its ok. You can add a little lime juice to the mashed potatoes and even if you do want to add lime juice its ok.
