Thought would start a topic on this... not just stating affirmations, but how we actually use them in our lives everyday; what changes we see by using them.

Hi Sridevi I first started using affirmations after reading a Louise Hay book. A lot of the things that she said made a lot of sense to me and explained a lot about why I was feeling the way I was. so I decided that it was worth a try ;D At first I wasn't sure how it could work, just saying things repetitively.....seemed a bit too easy to work ;D But I kept with it, and after a week or two I did start to feel a lot more positive about myself, my life, everything around me ;D So now, when I'm feeling a bit down, or if I'm in any pain, I check through my many affirmations, and start saying the ones that are relevant to how I'm feeling.....and it always works ;D ;D love stef

Hi Sridevi & Stef
I began using affirmations several years ago and find that doing so creates a sense of empowerment and general well-being. Also works well to replace "monkey chatter" ;D ;D ;D ;D Love, Mikilangela

I think the first affirmation for me should be to practice reiki everyday- work hard till it flows automatically and then there is no need for a reminder ;D. It is a great feeling to get reiki flowing when we need it and for that we must work hard ;D.

Hello everybody I can see that this topic started some months ago, but I feel that I could share something, though. I think there is never too late . I was always stubborn and high-minded, I was always right and I was trying to drag my loved ones with me (after all....I am who I am , right?.....) Reiki calmed me down a little (a little more, actually), I am listening first. For some time, I use the principles more than once in a day; every time I think that I need them. And the changes appeared, even if not from the beginning. At first, I was reacting to something and then I was "hearing" them and I was realizing that my ego didn't like the fact that "the something" wasn't as my ego wanted. In time, the "effect" changed a little. When I am almost going to get mad, the principles appear by themselves and they say "are you doing the right thing right now?" and I realize I don't. When I see a dear friend of mine getting worked up about something, I am telling him/her just "do not anger, do not worry" and she/he calms down (I said "a dear friend" because I don't say the principles to everybody; after all, I don't have the medications with me all the time). I think it is a part of being Reiki. The principles are there for me, when I need. And, by the way, I found yesterday a link to the five principles in Japanese. I heard them in Japanese before, but the way that woman are saying them is a real music to my ears. Check it, if you want (and if you didn't hear it a thousand times already ;D) www.reiki.org/JapaneseTechniques/5Principles.movMonica

Hi Monica Thanks for the link ;D I find that the principles have helped me a lot, and they are always there when I need a reminder ;D I find now that if I'm starting to worry about something, Reiki seems to flow on it's own, to remind me not to worry ;D love stef
