Everything (thoughts, feelings, emotions, sensations, associations) is made of energy.
Physicist Dr David Bohm says that the world is made of energy, space, mass and time. All the things you observe going on in your mind are made of the same underlying energy. Anger is made of the same energy that joy is. We must learn to remove the labels or content that typically categorize various emotions to diffuse or neutralize what we are feeling.
When we look at an unwanted emotion such as anger, we notice that when you remove the label of anger you are probably feeling just a movement of energy passing through your physical body. The problem arises when labelling takes place, when the energy is labelled as anger it probably has a 'bad' or 'I shouldn't feel' definition attached to it. Once you label this energy in any way, you put a boundary around it because you consider it bad, and resist it.
The process of seeing everything as made of energy is actually a process of de-labelling, taking off all labels and seeing emotions as energy - their most basic substance.
Once you can de-label your emotions and see them as just energy, you can utilise this energy in a positive manner.
Try this exercise and notice the difference you feel:
Step 1. Recall a story or memory when you felt angry.
Step 2. Allow the energy to manifest.
Step 3. Notice where in your body the anger is occuring.
Step 4. Notice the size and shape of the anger.
Step 5. Take your attention away from the story as to why you are angry.
Step 6. De-label the anger, see it as energy and merge with it.
Try it.....it really works, and if you use the energy with reiki it's even better ;D
