Nausea

Just recently I had the opportunity to share Reiki with someone in real life. The problem of the recipient was a strained back... very tense muscles behind the shoulders.
I found that I should use Kundalini Reiki with this by laying my hands on the shoulder's of the recipient and invoke the energy. I also visualized energy flowing down into the crown, all the way through the spine, down to the rootchakra...
Unfortunately this seemed to cause nausea. The feeling stopped just half a minute after I stopped giving Reiki, and we proceeded with orinary Usui Reiki for 15 minutes...
Now I know I kind of overdid it, but I was somewhat surprised by the strength of the energy, and also of the reaction because I believe that we are not given more than we can handle, energywise...
My conclusion: I wasn't able to detach from the outcome and what I thought was my inner voice telling me what to do, was really my attachment to the outcome.
Love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on this.
love Michael

Hi Michael Interesting......Who felt nauseous...you, the recipient, or both of you? How did it feel when you were using Usui, and how did both of you feel afterwards? Sorry......I'm not really helping much here, just asking more questions When I'm treating someone, especially if they are in pain, I first treat the area where the pain is, for as long as I feel neccessary, then I intend for the energy to treat the cause of the pain, and to flow for the highest good of the recipient. It is difficult at times to remain detached, we all want the best possible outcome, sometimes we may try to 'push' the energy to a particular place. But often, the areas where we feel pain are not the areas where the pain is caused. Maybe the nausea was caused by you just trying too hard, the nausea was a sign for you to stop for a minute, stop thinking about the outcome, and then start again and let the Reiki do the work. love stef

Michael, you can't 'overdo' reiki - the energy goes where it's needed - and you are merely the channel. Here's what I understand of the process - We are like the funnel you would use to pour oil into your car - there is a place to put the funnel, but the oil goes where it's needed - and some of the oil always sticks to the funnel. If nausea was apparent when you were 'applying' the energy, I think it would be because something was 'unwinding' that shouldn't have been 'wound' and the process was a bit unpleasant for the moment. When you stopped, the nausea went away. You might recommend this person see a chiropractor for some spinal adjustment. This person may have more problems with the spine than a simple strain. The spine is full of nerves that lead to all parts of the body - if the spine is out of alignment, it may cause a bit of discomfort putting it back into alignment. I'm not a medical doctor, but I know how my own body feels when my spine is out. Sometimes it's a bit nauseating to have things getting back into place. Keep in mind, the 'funnel' does not control where the 'oil' goes - the oil goes where it's needed - this thought can help you detach from any outcomes - YOU do not control the energy - you are simply the funnel - the energy goes exactly where it's needed. imho
