When preparing a list of affirmations for a healthier life I came to think of the fact that it's not good to use the word "not" since the brain and the universe does not handle the word as we do. That made me think of the Reiki Principles.
Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings, Just for today I will not worry, Just for today I will not be angry, Just for today I will do my work honestly, Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living Thing
Please keep in mind that I am not questioning the wisdom in the reiki principles. The second and third line begins with "Just for today I will not". Isn't there a risk that the brain hears "Just for today I will worry, Just for today I will be angry"?
I recon this is a translation thing, and now I wonder what can be said instead of "not worry" and "not be angry" without changing the meaning and wisdom of the principles?

I have seen this debated somewhere but like usual I cannot remember where.
How about :
Just for today I will be free from worry Just for today I will be free from anger

Lightwanderer, I have considered this very thing from the beginning, but didn't want to make offense. Even to say the word worry or anger is affirming it to the psyche if we are understanding the LOA. We shouldn't say the word at all because we don't understand opposites on that level, it seems. Today, I give thanks Today, I am happy Today, I am at peace Today, I do my work honestly Today, I am kind............ we can't even say "will" or "just for". It must be in the present moment and happening as we determine it to. Love and gratitude, for bringing it up and all else you do for us, Diana

Well, as long as it doesn't change the original thought and meaning of Dr Usui I am happy. I will change the picture I have on my wall at work to contain the new version

Now...I know I might be a bit behind in this, but I've been seeing it in various post around the forums. Just what is the LOA? What does that stand for??
