Hi, when reading about the orb of life I got the Idea of charging a ball of energy with Reiki (or any other healing energy) and send it with the intention to heal and telling the energyball to live for a month or so.
Does it sound like a good idea or is it just my brain working in a lack of coffee?

Its a great idea Lightwanderer. It's one of the reasons the ball was designed for. I think its best to keep topping it up or to make a new one every so often. That wat the Reiki is always around.

Diana, It's one of the parameters when building the energy-ball, to tell it how long it can live.

yes, I know this, but, if Reiki energy flows with its own knowledge as to where, for what and for how long....I have never heard anyone say yet that they intend Reiki to flow for only a limited amount of time... I thought we couldn't necessarily do that because it would be more than intending someone's highest good. Our will doesn't have a say.
Yet, now we can create energy balls and give them a purpose and, on top of that, tell them how long to exist...? That would seem to me to be using another energy than Reiki.

I think its a great idea ;D Its well worth trying and see the difference between the reiki I usually send and an energy ball.

Your Orb of Life, chi balls and energy balls are used as tools for the healer.
They are given a specific purpose, to send attunements, send healing or to clean and clear negative energy from spaces/places.
The most beautiful thing about those tools is that follow the directions given by the healer.
When you send reiki and maybe there is a time difference, your asleep and the other person is awake, you can give instructions for your chi ball to deliver this atttunement while you rest, prior to you sleeping. They will still experience the full energy. I give mine a limit for the fact that this energy thats out there, I don't want it to lose its luster prior to it doing its job. I only send mine out no longer than 12-24 hours.

It sounds pretty reasonable that reiki can be used in an energy ball, in my opinion, and with orders as far as when to terminate and what to do. I think, however, due to reiki's nature, that the ball is composed of two or more parts: one part consisting of the goodwill nature of reiki energy, and the other part(s) consisting of programmable energy. That is how I imagine it functioning.
I make energy balls all the time, either just in practice or for purposes set before me. I've doen distance work with energy as well, and while reiki is new to me, I do not see why it can't be used in this manner. I don't see it as imposing my will upon it when handled as such.
Just an opinion, however. Peace and Love.

The way I see it, the energy ball delivers the healing for a couple of days, the same way I would if I sent healing for a couple of days. Then if the Reiki keeps on working on the person after the healing has been sent, well, that is not inflicted by my will or by the energy ball's lifespan.

I have used this method now a while and it seems to work fine, I send both healing and attunements with chi-balls and it seems to work pretty fine.
