Hey Everybody! Is there anyone out there who has experience bringing Reiki to hospitals? Someone asked me about it today at work, and I initally didn't want to have a part in it, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. So, I may have the opportunity to present something to the head of the Oncology services here where I work. (That's a big maybe, though. ) Have any of you participated in such an endeavor? Another hospital across town has an free Energy Medicine clinic once a month for their cancer patients. I was thinking of paying them a visit to see how they run things. Any other suggestions? Love, Joanie

Joanie, I'm just returning to this site after being gone for a few years, and I just saw your message. I use to have the link for the RN Reiki Connection but when I tried it, it no longer exits. I did a search and came up with another site that has lots of info for you. www.reiki.org/Healing/Doctors_Nurses.htmlOver the years, several nationally renowned hospitals incorporated Reiki into their nursing practice. So, I'm happy to see that there are others that are considering Reiki, too. I'm just sad to see that it's being limited to oncology and hospice care.

Oh Yes, when you think of all the things Reiki is good for, it should be shared throughout the entire hospital. My office is a good example. I have brought Reiki to my co workers, and the entire office has a much better feel to it as a result. I've also attuned three of my coworkers, in fact, two of them just got their Level III just last week. Reiki has been a very useful tool in working with both nervous patients and crabby doctors.
So, thanks for the link. I will check it out.
Love, Joanie

Reiki is the most beautiful experience in hospitals, I use to do it in Mexico, in Los Mochis, and you could see how the patients needs reiki, the shower of love helps, when you hug them, you can feel how they need us. try and you will see, you will be very happy helping them.

Just a silly side-note to this wonderful thread. I HATE going to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions. One can wait 30 to 45 minutes! Now I take my Reiki Ho CD and run it for 1/2 hour as I do my "work" - silently suggesting that any other person there take whatever Reiki they may want or need for their highest good.

I volunteered at a local hospital a few years ago to do 20 minute Reiki sessions with nurses on their lunch breaks.
I have also been contacted by families to visit their loved ones and do a Reiki Session.
