Hi guys,
I have a question relating to treatments using Kundalini Reiki, the manuals state you will feel when to move position during a treatment when you feel a little drained. Does this mean that you are using your own energy to heal rather than an external energy as in Usui Reiki? If so how many treatments are safe before you make yourself ill, and what techniques do you use to re-charge yourself?

Basically it means that the flow will stop and its time to move to another part of the body.
With reiki you don't ever use your own energy. Kundalini are earth energies and you can bring more up through your feet when you are doing a session.
However realize that once you are attuned to more than one reiki, you can have the intent to use kundalini but what flows out will be what that person is needing. It's pretty amazing. I just did a session Friday and that happened to me. It will switch over and you will feel the source come from another.
Kundalini is wonderful to use. Enjoy!

YeS I'll second that ruth. I love using Kundalini and it does switch over to what is needed.

Hi both,
So it's more badly worded than anything else, the 'drained' feeling is the energy stopping rather than an actual draining of energy?

Precisely. If you do end up drained, it means you're doing something other than Reiki. By the nature of the Reiki channeling, you should feel better for having given a treatment, since the energy will also flow to you while you're channeling for someone else.

i do have to agree with silver but i have noticed that when i do treatments or attunements i do feel a bit worn out but i do not believe it is because my own energies are used because i know that is not the case otherwise i would feel instantly drained but because the sudden drop in intensity of vibrations from channeling to non channeling kinda of like a coming down effect. probably because it has a tendancy to relax me as well and when i'm relaxed i get sleepy heheh but thats just me i guess.
does this happen to any others here?
i'm not saying i dont feel energized because i always do just relaxed enough to wanna take a nap hehe.
until later
ciao

Hi chris, It all depends on the strength of the energy flow that is channeled, sometimes I have felt relaxed and sleepy but mostly I just feel relaxed. The heaviest and longest flow that I have ever felt was for a lady that was in the final stages of lupus and then I did have a nap, but hey I don't mind taking a nap either. But as you say I feel it's more like coming down from that figher vibration than actual tiredness. Namaste kezzie

It pretty much sounds like you are using your own energy. You can feel tired from 'working' so to speak as being a healer, sitting or standing, but drained is using your own energy. You got to practice separating them and concentrate on just that energy form. I know it can be hard in finding the right words sometimes, but this is how we figure out what you are trying to tell us. The best thing is if we don't get it, it can help someone else who is experiencing some of the same thing. Keep asking and we'll get it all figured out. love ruth

After reading all of the posts I have a question. If a person is being drained when doing healing then they are using there own energy, the healing is still occuring. If there has been no other training in any healing method does that mean that you are a natural born healer( someone born with the gift of healing active).

I'm a firm believer that everyone has the ability to heal by intent alone from birth. It's the environment in which they live that can either strengthen that ability or place barriers to allowing it to happen. As far as using one's own energy, it is a more common thing than many realize. When you truly listen to a friend in need, are there to comfort someone, or tend to someone who is ailing, you're using your own energy. Is it as effective as Reiki healing or another healing system? That's hard to tell. Both methods have their advantages, and both can be effective. Sometimes, putting the personal energy into it means more to the patient, and so it can help them find the strength and resolve to build back their own energies as well. There are also risks when you use your own energy. You, in turn, may become afflicted by certain ailments if you drain your energies too far in helping someone. Reiki, by its nature, leaves the healer protected from the dangers of self-depletion. It also heals the healer in the process of treating a patient. Some may say it's less personal, in that it's merely being channeled through you rather than coming from you. Some, due to their own beliefs or reasons, will reject healing from a healing system that falls outside their realm of belief or understanding. Both ways, however, can indeed be effective methods of healing someone in need. Another long answer to a simple question.

Just a thought to keep in mind, while using your own personal energy (which can drain you and put you at risk for anything that you cleared from that person), you need to make sure that YOU have had yourself been cleaned and cleared, balanced and whole because whatever you have goes to them.
It's a practice that is not recommended due to those features.
A natural born healer (which we all are) uses energy again from nature, God, angels, earth ...etc but is not from them. It is a gift like any other natural gifts or abilities that anyone else has. It is NOT giving of your own energy.
If someone does go and do this...please think twice! Using your own does not make you a better healer/practitioner.

Some people do have natural abilities, some call them God given talents. I myself showed horses all my life and am a natural at it. Growing up me and my sister both showed and had the exact same coach yet no matter how hard she trained her ability was never the same as mine, she could not reach the same level. I am not arrogent about this I am simply stating a fact.Morzart had a natural ability when it came to music,or how about sports figures, just because someone wants it extremely bad doesn't mean that they are going to be the best at it. I wasn't say that being able to use your own energy to heal makes one a better healer I was only woundering if this would be a natural talent. There are children who heal with no formal training and no idea how this is being done, some are in homes that accept this and others are not permitted to talk about it at all or use it, yet in both of these groups the ability to heal stays intact. If these children are not narural born healers then what are they?
