An old view on Reiki When I started Reiki there were more than three levels now I am not criticizing the modern Reiki in fact I think it good its now available to all who would study it and I am still learning that’s what makes it interesting however I have noticed so many getting attunement after attunement and I don’t think that is going to increase the understanding of Reiki there is so much more seams to me has split off the original Reiki to become systems of there own one of these is taping now called EFT. And the study of the system of meridians or the twelve primary meridians witch I think is important the seven centres of energy or chakras are well known you need to make the connection to meridians and know were the gangular (ganglia) is and what it is .Cupping therapy (with hands) is another .Also Infrasonic Sound is worth understanding the effect of sound on the brain involved in speech patterns and mantras .Also smudging and including Aromatherapy and essential oils and how it works .Now crystals are well worth understanding .Now last but not least acupressure theory you only need to know the eight potent points and then make the connection to Reiki .And I am forgetting meditation with meditation you can make the connection to most of the above there is a lot of types of meditation you might say this is a holistic view you would be right however I would call it advanced Reiki. If you are interested in learning any of the above you will find a lot of this in the downloads on this site Stef put it under Sidney’s downloads .I would invite comments good or bad of what I have written .or questions would be welcome and I bet you will find lots of answers from the members of this site .cheers Sidney.

Hi Sidney,
An interesting topic, my friend.
I used to be critical of those whom were 'collecting Reiki styles', as I used to call it, but then, I realised that you have to do what feels right for you. Experience is your best Teacher and there's no substitute for it. There is no right or wrong way of doing things, everything just is.
My truth, is just that, my truth, it doesn't have to be right for anybody else.
My own journey consists of seven years of daily meditation, Usui Reiki to level three, and the same for Seichim. I'm also a medium and learning all the time.
I look forward to more replies on this thread.
Love, Danny

i'm kind of on the fence about the whole tomany attunements is a bad thing see i see it as widening your perspective of different styles and types of reiki. my sentiments are that i wish to give the reciever the best possible treatment that i can and by learning many different techniques and styles. i do understand that when doing energy work on anyone that they aregoing to recieve which ever energy is of thier highest good but i feelit helps to be attuened to several energies as to optimise the outcome because what if their higher self calls for say kundalini reiki healing and your only attuned to the usui system is it still going to take the healing energies or is it going to deny them as it is not the right energies suitable for the moment. now dont get me wrong i am not saying that everyone has to get as many attunements as possible but mearly stating that i think it is better to do so. but this is however my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own.
like so many of us do on this forum that are attuned to several styles i simply ask or "intend " that what ever energies are needed that i amcurrently attuened to and that are of the highest good for the recipient be channeled through me and be sent to the receiver.

Your post makes perfect sense, Chris. I have an intention to remain open minded, which is paramount to further growth. I appreciate that everybody has their own inner guidance - their own spiritual purpose etc. Love and best wishes, Danny

I've never really been attuned in the normal fashion. As a child I would heal animals but kind of steered away from it when I noticed society didnt really accept it. When I was 21, I cured a migrane out of empathic fear, completely spontaneous. Something just came over me and I did it. I've had this gift my whole life. I see all "flavors" of reiki as comming from the same source. When I heal someone, I literally lose my free will and go into a trance state. I'm like a wire the higher power uses to channel the energy to the recipient. The few people I have done this with were completely amazed. Honestly, I dont think training is needed, just awareness that "you," personally are powerless. God has the power to heal and uses you to do it. I see the many flavors more as personal guidelines to help build your own faith in our natural abilities to be used by God. I think, in the end, we all will let go of the many symbols and variations and just let if flow, knowing that "knowing a system" isnt even required. Its simply a matter of faith and faith alone.
