I'm wondering how important it is to balance/open the chakras. Are there dangers? Is it the same as a kundalini awakening? I've heard that kundalini awakening can be dangerous. I've just purchased a CD by Jonathan Goldman called Chakra Chants for opening the Chakras. I felt really spacey after chanting along with the CD last night. I mean it wasn't a bad spacey lol...all the same I would like to know more before I continue....windy

Hi windy There are no dangers in opening and balancing the chakras, it's completely different to kundalini awakening. It is always important to ground yourself after any energy work, this prevents you from feeling spacey. love stef

Thanks Stef. Is Kundalini awakening dangerous for some and is this what happens when you receive kundalini reiki - maybe not bang on, just awakened slowly?

Hi windy a lot is said about Kundalini i think it does more good than harm. To be a bit spacey after meditation is good. On the general page a new member Shawn gives a download site for Kundalini awakening includes 30minute meditation i think is a good one and yes makes you a bit spacey for me a refresher i think it was excellent cheers and love Sidney.

Hi For what its worth, I don't think that Kundalini Awakening is exactly dangerous. It is really more whether you are emotionally able to experience your own self, in your own body, forgive yourself if necessary and accept completely what you are in this lifetime and what you are becoming. So perhaps the first questions should be: Where are you on the path? What do you expect from Kundalini Awakening? Are you prepared to be who you are? Why do you want to do this? Its not for everyone and it should not be undertaken lightly. Bright Blessings - Wolfsinger

The thing about a kundalini awakening is, you have no control over when it will happen unless you dabble in awakening it when its not ready. It is so different with everyone. it's like anything in life It's an energy and when your has risen or has begun to rise you treat it as if you had an attunement. Drink plenty of water, GROUND, flow the energy through you and self heal everyday! The pain that is associated with the rising are blocks. The energy is hitting them again and again until they are released. This is why balancing and all basic's learned in reiki is important when this does occur. And believe it or not, some people have no clue if theirs has risen. But they do have some enlightenment where there was none, very subtle changes, so if they know the signs with the rising, they will know what to look out for. Life doesn't give you anything you are not ready for! ( Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness.) love ruth
