Ritalin-Aspartame-Chromosome Damage - Killing Kids For MoneyWhat they should know about the aspartame connection: Before the approval of aspartame (NutraSweet/Equal/Spoonful, E951, Canderel) there was no epidemic of Ritalin use or epidemic of learning disorders and behavioral problems. Renowned neuroscientist, Dr. John Olney, predicted what would happen to the brains of our children if aspartame was approved, especially in combination with MSG. He founded the field of neuroscience called excitotoxicity when he did studies on aspartic acid, (40% of aspartame) and found it caused lesions in the brains of mice. Aspartic acid is an excitotoxin, that stimulates the neurons of the brain to death causing brain damage. Neurosurgeon Russell Blaylock, M.D., wrote the book on it, "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills". by Dr. Betty Martini, D.Hum. read the story at rense.comknowledge rules love Michael

The food companies have been getting away with poisoning people for years. People do need to be made more aware of what they are eating and the damage it is doing. Next time you go food shopping, read all the ingredients on every item you pick up to put in your shopping trolley - it's frightening how many chemicals you'll find. love stef

Michael,
OMG, I'm slow on some of these posts and just saw this!!! I was told my problem started as nutritional depletion, due to my own doing of diet and exercise to soon after baby and infection.
Doctors told me to stop exercise, but they never suggested I stop the diet bars, low fat ice cream, or the energy drinks all with aspartame in them!!! In fact one told me it was fine to keep dieting.
Thank you for posting this. I had never heard of the damage this stuff and others like it caused until it happened to me. That makes me so mad!!!! I made myself sick BUT that stuff made me worse!!! Sad part is, I was already sick a year before I finally had a doc tell me to stay away from aspartame.
My family doesn't touch anything with it in it anymore if I can help it. I admit I gave my kids some of the sugar free jello, diet sodas, not because they needed it, but because I thought.......what would it hurt!! Of course a pharm. rep friend of mine said, 'oh you would need bags of the stuff to cause damage'.........uh huh, tell that to all the victims of this stuff.
Sorry, I'm venting and want to thank you for posting this, we need to scream it out to everyone.
warm hugs and love, bellaluna

Hello, Absolutely, I bring it up whenever I can. I think I'm irritating some. Oh well, too bad. I also liked the post, I think also by Michael, on MSG. Yuk, I'm scared to go eat anywhere. My daughter got a little upset when I told her we were never eating at KFC again. Love, bellaluna

Hi bellaluna, It is the same in the uk, too many chemicals we are eating antibiotics and all sorts of rubbish, too much salt the list is endless, we do try and buy organic foods, they will only tell us what they want us to know, sad but true. I out of 3 people in the usa will have cancer, but the athletes only 1 out of 7 so we need to look after ourselves in the uk too many peeps eat junk food, did you know that we should be eating 70 % of water based foods ? i bet not many of us anywhere in the world eat what we should ? love, mick

My Gosh, what are we supposed to do. Back when my grandmother would cook using lard...........we were told "BAD, BAD", don't use lard. She lived to the age of a very happy 94, working on her garden until almost the end. We eat "healthy, diet, low fat" and we're getting sick.
I think I eat the healthiest I have ever eaten, SAD part is, it took me getting sick to get here.
Mick, do you feel good on buying organic? I have to ask because here in Texas, we got a report that organic isn't as great as we think. So, I'm wondering what we're supposed to do. Back to basics, I guess.
We should have a cup of 'green tea' and think about it. As far as I have always been told, green tea is good for us. Hope things haven't changed.
warm hugs and love, bellaluna

Oh dear, you guys have got me going again There is lots of information available about the change in our diets, and the change in the food that is provided for us to eat. You just have to look for it because the ‘people in charge’ don’t want us to know, so the information isn’t readily available. Because food production is big business, people in the food industry are always looking at ways to cut costs. So we don’t just have to look at what we are eating, but also at the change in diet for farmed animals, and how that affects the food chain. We all know about BSE and the devastating affect that has had. That was caused by a change in the feed given to cattle, and, because of the long incubation period, we still don’t know how bad the problem could be. A few years ago in Britain we had an outbreak of foot and mouth disease, this was said to be caused by a farmer feeding cheap, unlicensed feed to his pigs. Also, because of the change in diet for farm animals, meat and dairy products don’t have the same nutritional value as they had 30 years ago, when cows and sheep ate mainly grass, and chickens ate mainly grain. The dairy industry are constantly telling us to drink milk because of the calcium content, but, because cows eat less grass now, the level of calcium in milk is much lower than it was 30 years ago, the same is true for the iron content in red meat and liver. Milk is neither the only nor the best source of calcium and has little effect on bone strength. Broccoli, spinach, watercress, nuts, seeds, soya and other plant sources are better and healthier sources. Humans are the only animals that drink milk after weaning…..and worse still, it is another animal’s milk that we drink. It is designed for calves, so many humans find it hard to digest and the result is allergies. Hormones in milk are linked to ovarian, breast and prostate cancer, as well as juvenile-onset diabetes. The saturated fat, cholesterol and animal protein it contains are linked to many other diseases. Then there’s the antibiotics……because mastitis is such a big problem in the dairy industry (over a million cases a year in the uk), many farmers inject their entire herd, whether infected or not, and the antibiotics enter the human food chain. But, routine use of antibiotics has failed to control the problem, so along with the antibiotics, there is also the problem that milk from infected cows containing up to four million pus cells per litre can legally be sold for humans Here’s a quote I found by Dr Frank A Oski, Former Director of Pediatrics, Johns Hopkins University. There’s no reason to drink cow’s milk at any time in your life. It was designed for calves, not humans, and we should all stop drinking it today. If you want to know more, take a look at these links: www.milkmyths.org.ukwww.viva.org.ukOh....and organic .....this is just my opinion ;D I think that organic is better then intensively farmed produce because of the lack of harmful pesticides.......but...the crops are still grown in our polluted environment.....with our polluted rain falling on the crops and soil....so they're not as good as a lot of people believe. love stef .....who loves ranting at the food industry....they have too much control over our lives.

hm. and now you say I have to drink mi coffey without milk? Poisoning people with polluted crops or refined products is nothing we can get away from, unfortunately. However I believe it is the sum of all bad stuff we eat that eventually makes us sick. If one sticks to an organic diet, one can sort of "afford" to eat something that isn't quite that good. I find that the more I stay away from the poisoned stuff, the less my body tolerates it the next time I have it my body might be old, but it can learn ;D love Michael

hm. my body might be old, but it can learn So very true. In fact, if we consider all the information available for food items both for and against, it will become very difficuilt to eat and drink at all. May be the plain water, the elxir of life, we all take itself have side effects. While we should take proper precaution in selecting our food products using the information available on them , we should also rely equally well on our intution and body signals as to what suits us. Our body is very intelligent. This may vary from person to person. love anand
