Hi all
Just a quick couple of questions. As some of you will know I'm thinking of getting attuned, but i have a real important question regarding my desire to have a professional looking hand signed (by the teacher) certificate rather than one that I can print out. Am I over stepping the line in wanting this? The reason i would like this simply for the fact that people can and will develope faith in your abilities if you have something that they regard as looking professional, take the guy in the suit, you would more likely take bussiness advice from him rather than someone who is dressed in rags. I know there are other factors such as experience and such, but lets not get into those.
I have asked various friends who have said that a printed certificate would look tacky and I agree, but they have also said that wouldn't stop them from receieving healing if they knew the person personally.
To help explain it better heres a little story, I've been practising Buddhism for 14 to 15 years now and about 10 to 11 years ago I approached a dentist with an idea. The idea was this, that I would be willing to help his clients with nerves (or fears of being in the dentist) by guiding them through a 5 minute breathing meditation before going to have their teeth looked at. The dentist was very intriged by this idea and asked if I had any certificates to show him. I did not and he told me if I had some he would be very intrested.
Theres the problem you see, to be taken seriously you need certificates but I feel they can't be something that can just be printed off on normal printing paper.
So back to the question, is it ok for me to ask for a professional looking certicate (hand signed by the teacher)? I understand that it might look like I'm more concerned about the certificate and don't get me wrong the certificate will be noted on my CV for work purposes but thats to show potential employers what I can do, I'm also planning on getting my First aid certificate, as well as food hygeine, health and saftey as well as risk assesment.
Basically I see certificates as a means to an end. I would like to work in an enviroment where I can be of benifit to others, whether thats healing in a healing centre or working in a kitchen preparing food, or even cleaning up the enviroment of rubbish.
I'm well aware that I might look like I'm just asking for a professional certificate because I'm just looking for a job, and that I'm just trying to justify when I want a professional looking certificate, I'm also aware that chances are I won't be working as a healer, and to be honest it's not something I feel comfortable taking money for.
So any thoughts and answers would be appricated.
