Hi all,
I have recently undertaken my 1st degree and have had some good successes with friends via a few sessions. One of my clients has had bad experiences with her legs which her doctors have been unable to help with. She has undertaken several reiki sessions with me and her swelling and pain have subsided considerably. However, i want to treat more specific complaints. How do I personalise my sessions to cater for specific problems? Also do you guys use different induction techniques, or indeed induction techniques at all.
So many questions, so little time lol
thanks
J

Hi ronin and welcome, Your success sounds great reiki is a wonderful energy huh? My understanding is that the reiki will go to any area or the area where it is needed most, hence the leg lady feels better there someone with back pain would hopefully feel relief in their back. i would be a little hesitant about 'treating' spefic complaints as both diagnosis and treatment should be under the care of a medical practitioner and we need to be careful that our clients dont ignore symptoms that need to be seen by their doctor. Imho our role is much more than the relief of physical symptoms we are perhaps the ones who see our clients as whole people ie physical, psycholocial, emotional spiritual beings we acknowledge and treat the whole therfore our healing is about the wellness rather than sickness. personally i start my practice by letting the reiki flow and stating my intent for the client/myself and for the greatest good. Others have differnt methods it what you feel most comfortable with. Enjoy this time of learnign exploration and new experiances, it is the foundations that you lay now that will build your future sucess Love, light and blessing sg :)xxxxxxxxx

SG - thanks for your input. Yes your understanding of treating as a whole goes with what my Master has taught me The induction thing still interests me though. I personally try to induce a mild hypnotic state. ie the deep breathing, heavy muscle syndrome etc etc. I think that as long as this is controlled and the use of deepners is avoided, then it can work very well. Your thoughts on this would be very welcome. Jon

treat the whole therfore our healing is about the wellness rather than sickness. Hi, scrumyg! First, I must say that I completely share your view of reiki above. Reiki is for balancing, and for maintain a healthy life. But, originally, Usui gave a detailed guidance to how to cure certain diseases. Then, has the world changed or has reiki changed?

Hi Jon, Sorry about the delay in getting back to you pc aghhhhh!!! If a mild hypnotic sates works for you great, probably a little bit of what we all do as we 'put our ego to one side and let the reiki flow' perhaps as you going about your hand movment be aware of any 'hot spots' (for want of another word you may feel drawn to a particular area or feel a change in the area this is can mean an problomatic area and may benifit from some extra concentration on that area. Its all about developing your intuition and sensativities (and it will develop The more you practice the more you will be able to 'hone' into individual areas of concern. It sounds to me that you are most certainly on the right path :0 enjoy Yuki, The short answer is yes i do think the world has changed. Knowledge has developed and we therfore need to incorporate this into our practice. Even tho medince dismisses all alternate healing as quackery it will one day reaslise that we work better when we work together treating the whole rather than the symptom. Imho as reiki becomes more widespread, taught and practiced the reiki will devlop and expand in ways we cant begin to imagine. I find that so comforting and exciting :)x Blessings SgX
