Hey All Well this question has been posing in y min for a while now. If 'Reiki' energy or in other words life-force energy is in us already ( and some could say it is us ) then how do self reiki sessions work? I get that it is 'more' life force channeling through our crown chakra, to heart, and through hands back into the body ( or object or intention) but then when we channel it for ourselves, do we really even need the hand positions? If Reiki is not guided by us but by the Higher Power than and if it is already entering us via the crown, then why the hand placements? In reality isn't everything the same 'energy' and even All One? What do you think ? Love Light and Peace

Dear One think of a garden hose that has a kink in it and the water wont flow unblock the kink and it works again. Below is a bit from a form of Reiki called Shen to me it all works the same just a good explanation to your question. What is the mechanism for healing? “Practitioners move bioenergy across areas of increased energetic resistance… to complete disrupted energy circuits that have become blocked by chronically held-in emotions.” “When the pressure less touch procedures comprising SHEN are applied to the body, the involuntary physioemotional tensions that surround the sites of either physical pain or emotional pain are released Then the body can return to normal healthy function. Bit more--The Chinese, in the 3rd millennium B.C., posited the existence of a vital energy which they called Chi (life force, life energy). All matter, animate and inanimate, is composed of and pervaded with this universal energy. Same as we need blood to flow freely through our body's circulatory system we also need Chi to flow freely through our system of meridians. Simplified one can say that the meridians are the equivalent of our blood vessels but instead of transporting blood this system transports Chi or life energy. Sickness can occur when there is a blockage in the meridians and the Chi no longer can flow freely or when the yin and yang balance of the Chi is disturbed. Cheers Sidney.
